Our House

So nähern Sie sich dem Büdnerhaus: Fachwerk, Holz und Reet

Enjoy a stay in a historical setting. When we purchased the plot in 2012 a traditional ‘Büdnerhaus’ farmhouse dating back to around 1790 was still standing on it. Our dream, originally, was to restore the building that had been unoccupied for a long time to its former glory. Unfortunately, the house was too far gone to be saved. But we didn’t want to give up our dream and so we built our own ‘Büdnerhaus’ exactly where the old farmhouse had stood, complete with timber framing, a thatched roof and an entrance hall similar to the characteristic original hallway that went all the way through the house and was so wide that a horse and cart could pass through. For the hallway we selected handmade terracotta floor tiles and outward-opening sash windows. The entrance doors to the two apartments are typical of the Darss region and were crafted using traditional techniques by master cabinet maker René Roloff from the nearby village of Prerow. We even managed to acquire several pieces of furniture dating from the period of the original house.

Whilst making every effort to retain the characteristic design of the former hall house, we nonetheless placed great importance on including every conceivable comfort for our guests – spacious walk-in showers, high-quality beds and sofas, stylish, top-of-the-range kitchens, large fireplaces, underfloor heating, attractive garden furniture …

Both apartments are meticulously appointed. The kitchens contain everything you require to prepare your own meals. Upon your arrival the beds are freshly made and soft, white towels await you in the bathrooms. For an additional charge you can, of course, at any time request a change of towels or bathrobes or for the house to be cleaned during your stay.
